Sweden April 2014

Theme of the Month: Red. You don't see many EV's in this colour...

Springtime Records - The Next Chapter

April saw the Swedish EV Market break another sales record (474 units vs 428 last month) with 1,7% share, pulling the YTD share to 1,36%, making Sweden the third country with highest EV Share at the moment, behind Norway and Netherlands.

Mitsubishi was the great responsible for this with the Outlander PHEV selling an amazing 279 units, making it the #2 Best Selling Midsize SUV in Sweden this month, staying only behind the homeboy Volvo XC60.

The rest of the podium was stable (V60 #2 and PiP #3), while the Nissan Leaf was just #7 in April, with just 11 registrations, which doesn't compare well with its Fourth Position YTD.

  1. Jose, according to Bil Swden (http://www.bilsweden.se/statistik/arkiv-nyregistrering_per_manad_2014/nyregistreringar-april-2014), the total of Kangoo Z.E. vans registered is 90 not 53, and the cumulative total for the Model S is 52, not 55.

  2. The Kangoo ZE numbers are now corrected, as for Tesla, my source comes from Tesla Club Sweden, which counts registrations directly from the source, Tesla isn't part of the Swedish dealers association, so it's natural that some cars don't fall on the radar of that association or Bil Sweden.
