Finland April 2014

Tesla shoots for Number One

With a few months delay, we have the April numbers from Finland, with a record 29 plug-ins sold that month and Tesla also beating the sales record for a single model with 16 registrations, stealing the Top Spot from the Volvo V60 Plug-In and placing pure electrics (59%) above PHEV (41%). To put things in perspective, last year it ended with 72% for plug-in hybrids vs 28% for BEV, so Tesla shook the market in more than one way...

Beyond this, sales are still  pretty low compared to their neighbors, with only the aforementioned Tesla, Volvo and Nissan registering significant sales. Nevertheless, YTD sales are up 38%, so there's reason to be optimistic.

To make things worse Finland are also dead last (well, together with a few other <0,5% countries) in the EU when it comes to renewable fuels in the transport sector.

  2. Nice Article, the April numbers from Finland, with a record 29 plug-ins sold that month and Tesla also beating the sales record for a single model with 16 registrations, Absolutely Car buyers can purchase fully electric cars, but there hasn’t been a huge take-up of these electric vehicles. I would personally love to buy an electric car. people want to more information about electric cars also visit here
